this puzzling swell of urban spitting.

There’ve been in all our metro places
clandestine doings done to our races.

Our mucus makers have, indeed,
been augmented beyond our need.

The motive, compelled into sight,
exposes our disturbing plight.

Since dehydration makes folk tired,
this creepy plot was, therefore, sired.

To sap our verve, on the sly,
THEY made our sap mucusify.

Intending, by this evil deed,
to trigger a great fluid need.

To keep us weary so that when
THEY come for us, well, then …
