A Really Weird Show
by
Kevin L. Donihe

I saw this sitcom
where the mother
returned home to
tend to her precocious
children after a day
spent working
for the man
at the pizza parlor.

The only difference
was that she
now had a huge
gunshot wound
to the chest.

(A victim of armed robbery,
I guess.)

The children snickered
and then cracked up
as the mother scowled
disapprovingly and the
laugh track roared.

I think it only lasted one season.
