 Just Released

LaValley's collection of stories drags us under to face the lows of society—the helpless and the morally corrupt. Snippets of our own lives can be found between the moments of brutality, a reminder of our younger years when we were bullied apathetically, almost as an afterthought, by bosses, teachers, and others. And in those brief moments of recognition the lowlifes become underdogs who, though seriously misguided, never stop fighting.

New Issue of The Dream People

The new issue of The Dream People is chock full of bizarro goodness including hilarious flash interviews with Michael Arnzen & Donna Lynch, plus a short story from Jeremy Shipp's forthcoming collection and an essay out of Horror Isn't a 4-Letter Word as well as new fiction, creative non-fiction and another great microcriticism by D. Harlan Wilson.

Rue Morgue Features Horror Isn't a 4-Letter Word

The October issue of Rue Morgue Magazine featured an interview with Matthew Warner about his non-fiction book on the horror genre, Horror Isn't a 4-Letter Word. "Part of what makes [it} so compelling is its potpourri feel; this isn't a book designed to teach readers how to write horror or even look at it critically, rather it consists of a seemingly random smattering of thoughts, opinion and true stories related to the genre."—Monica S. Kuebler, Rue Morgue

The magazine has graciously allowed Warner to post the article here.

 Zombiefest

As you can imagine the Monroeville Mall was crawling with zombies for Zombiefest but Pittsburgh is a tough town, even for zombies! Take for instance this poor Pittsburgh Steelers fan who was beaten and marked for his "Got Brains?" bumper sticker.
