RDSP Update July

In Your Write Mind Writing Workshop Recap

The IYWM Writing Workshop at Seton Hill University was an eye-opening experience for us. We attended as publisher guests and gave a couple classes, spoke on a panel and took pitches. But we also hung out, ate lots of great food and attended the Gatsby Costume Ball. It was both fun and a great learning experience. For all the details check out our blog post here.

You can also see more pics on our site.

RDSP and Hellbender by Jason Jack Miller were even mentioned in an article about the Gatsby Ball here.

 SuiPsalms debuting at Morgantown Poets

SuiPsalms, the newest poetry collection from John Edward Lawson, will debut during a reading at the Monongehela Arts Center in Morgantown, WV. Both John Edward Lawson and D. Harlan Wilson will read Thursday, August 16, 7 pm.

SuiPsalms is the follow-up to Lawson's first, acclaimed poetry collection, The Troublesome Amputee. Exploring the subject of suicide from all angles, this collection challenges pre-conceived notions and both poetry and suicide. Drawing on influences from Sylvia Plath to Ian Curtis this book is never quite what you expect.

 Pre-Order Hellbender

Hellbender

Although the Collins clan is steeped in Appalachian magic, Henry has never paid it much attention. But when his younger sister dies mysteriously Henry can't shake the feeling that the decades-old feud between his family and another is to blame.

Strange things are happening at the edge of reality, deep in the forests and mountains of West Virginia. Let Jason Jack Miller take you to a place where love is forever even when death isn't, where magic doesn't have to be seen to be believed, where a song might be the only thing that saves your soul.

Jason Jack Miller's Murder Ballads and Whiskey series is a unique blend of dark fiction, urban fantasy and horror. It's Appalachian Gothic, Alt.Magical.Realism, Hillbilly Horror. It's American Gods meets Justified. True Blood with witches. It's Johnny Cash with a fistful of copperheads singing the devil right back to hell.
