What They're Saying about D.D. Murphry, Secret Policeman:

D.D. Murphry, Secret Policeman is a delightful and unique story. The only thing I regret about reading the seven cases presented in this delicious tome is that I didn't think of them first! I cannot recommend it enough!
—James A. Moore, author of Deeper and The Serenity Falls Trilogy

D.D. Murphry is the first responder to a terrible accident at the intersection of Desire and Reality, sorting through the wreckage with a bloody spoon and a dangerously corrupted sense of Truth. Clark and Massie have created a brilliantly indelible character in D.D., and with each case cracked they offer a smorgasbord of startling shock, laugh-out-loud wordplay, and endearing empathy. D.D. Murphry, Secret Policeman is an arresting literary tightrope act of the top order. Read it now, and keep an eye out for True Government transmissions.
—Jeremy Robert Johnson, author of Angel Dust Apocalypse and Extinction Journals

If you have ever wondered what sort of book Hannibal Lector would have read as a child, you have only to open D.D. Murphry, Secret Policeman to have your answer. Elizabeth Massie and Alan M. Clark—two very unique talents—have butterfly nets and canvas jackets with wraparound arms in their futures. Hopefully, not too soon in their futures. These two are just ... nuts. Thank God.
—5-time Bram Stoker Award-winner Gary A. Braunbeck, author of Coffin County and Far Dark Fields

Beth Massie? Alan Clark? Writing together? Be afraid. Be very,
very afraid.
—Craig Shaw Gardner, NY Times Best Selling author

Elizabeth Massie and Alan M. Clark are both dark geniuses in their own right, but with this collaboration, they have created a kind of mad perfection. D.D. Murphry, Secret Policeman is twisted, unnerving, and funny as hell. It takes a special kind of lunacy to write something this wonderful. A triumph.
—Christopher Golden, author of The Myth Hunters

What a concept! Massie and Clark have crafted a winner: funny,
clever and disturbing all at once. Getting inside D.D. Murphry's head
was fascinating and deeply unsettling...reading it, one gets the
feeling that there may be more than one 'secret policeman' out in the
real world. I loved it.
—Nate Kenyon, author of Bloodstone and The Bone Factory

About the Cover Artist

Chad Savage is one of those artists for whom it’s “in the blood.” His parents told him he was drawing before he could walk, and what he was drawing concerned them. Monstrous themes have always prevailed in his art. There has been conjecture that Chad’s disturbing imagery is due to the fact that he was raised Southern Baptist. That his parents were both dead by his 20th year. That his first year of college was in Los Angeles after growing up for 17 years in The South. Chad has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration and advertising art from the University of North Texas.
