Bizarro Day had a great turn out and you couldn't ask for a better venue than Backlist Books. People were excited to meet authors Michael A. Arnzen, John Edward Lawson, Andersen Prunty, D. Harlan Wilson, Gary Braunbeck and Lucy Snyder. Each author did a short reading. They ranged from hilarious to shocking but all were entertaining. It was great to have so many sides of weird on display! In fact, bookstore owner Fred Van Patten declared it the best book event he'd participated in.
Not only was it exciting to see so many people interested in new fiction but it's a hopeful sign to find a new independent bookstore thriving on a downtown main street. The return of Mom and Pop bookshops would be an excellent thing indeed.
Below are a few pictures from the event. Thanks to Christopher Danaher and Bill for taking them. We'll have video up on YouTube soon and will include links on this page as soon as we do.
